Topshop Aruba Boots.

I got these babies off Ebay for a bargain price of £20.00. (Love good ebay finds!). They're brand new which is even better, however I am feeling a little nervous about wearing them seen as they're cream suede and I am totally rubbish at looking after my shoes. Think I'm going to save them till spring...if I can resist wearing them! Which judging by the fact i have them on right now I doubt is going to happen...

What I wore today.

Reverting back to my Scottish homelands and feeling inspired by what Rhianna wore for her performance on x-factor at the weekend today I went for...TARTAN.

My take...not quite as nice as Rhianna's but hey I like it..

I got the Tartan dress years ago from Forever21 when I was in America and it's one of my dresses that I always forget I have and it sits in my wardrobe untill I 'Rediscover' it. The white lace underneath is actually a dress from Topshop. It's one of my favourites and I wore it too my graduation (which feels so long ago!!).
xoxox

ps...sorry it's been a while. I've joined the Mac club (wooohooo!!) But it's taken me a while to work out how to use it and get all my stuff off my pc. But I'm back.

Recent Purchases.

It's been a month....A few things I've been spending my hard earned dollah' on...
1. Maxi Skirt- Forever 21 (£18.99). 2. Fake Fur Collar- H&M (£12.99). 3. 'Bisous' T-Shirt- Topshop (£14.00). 4. Oxblood Bodycon Skirt- Topshop (£22.00). 5. Boots- H&M (£24.99).

I have literally been living in the fake fur Collar from H&M, using it pretty much everyday to try and reinvent some of my coats and jackets that have been living inside the back of my wardrobe. I think it really adds a little 'something' to an outfit. I'm not usually a T-shirt kind of girl but I really liked the 'Bisous' one from Topshop (it's a rip-off of this Ashish one, which to be honest I would've preferred but alas my budget wouldn't stretch to that... boo hoo). The Topshop ones a really nice material but I'm waiting to see how it washes, Topshop clothes and I don't seem to have a history of washing well together. I wore the maxi skirt to LFW, I was a maxi skirt virgin before and had visions of me falling flat on my arse on the cobbles of Somerset house but fortunately that didn't happen. It would have been a major fashion faux-pas if it had of. In the words of Rachel Zoe...'I'd die'.

NYFW- I heart Jeremy Scott.

I LOVE the make up from Jeremy Scott's SS2012 show. Please someone pass me my eyebrow pencil so I can draw on my freckles. The collection itself is a hoot...glam hillbilly cowgirls. It's just silly and I love the way as always his collection doesn't take itself too seriously.

Wow.

I have a girl crush and I'm currently obsessed with model Edie Campbell's 60's doll eyes look. At 15 she was in a Burberry ad and she's also done Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and graced the pages of Vogue not once but twice. I love her easy style, you can tell she doesn't try hard at all and that non-caring pout- wow. She reminds me of a modern day young Marianne Faithfull.

*This is a scheduled post as I am at Leeds Festival woooo.
Benefit eyebrow kit £23.00

I can't live without my Benefit eyebrow kit...It's fantastic little kit for shaping your brow's and highlighting your brow line. Dark eyebrows are very 'in' at the moment and I can not leave the house without having mine perfect. It has a wax that sets your eyebrows and then two shades to fill them in along with highlighting cream and powder and also some handy travel sized tweezers. It is a tad expensive but really worth the money, my kit has lasted me for months. I really feel better when I have used the kit as having perfect eyebrows can add symmetry to your face and make you're eyes bigger.
(I rarely ever get my forehead out...but for the sake of sharing beauty tips I have for you..)

Biking.

I love living in London and if you're ever in London I recommend you hire one of the 'Borris Bikes'. My Boyfriend and me made us a picnic and headed to Hyde Park last weekend (we're trying to London on a budget as we are both trying to save money) and for fun we hired a bike each. It cost a pound to gain access to the bikes and a pound for the first hour. It was so fun! We just stayed in Hyde Park as we didn't fancy braving the London roads on a weekend ( Hyde Park is massive anyway so more than enough to cycle round!).

excuse the silly face.

SO FUN!!
We look like twins in our hats but hey...

LOVE.

I LOVE Mulberry's a/w campaign with photography (and a film) by Tim Walker and set design by my favourite Shona Heath. It's whimsical and elegant and just so English.

I think the whole thing really captures the brand, I love the choice of song too (Miike Snow, Animal).
I also now want a fox as a pet.

Recent Purchases- New Look.

When I was back 'up north I popped into New Look and picked up these b-e-a-utiful moccasin shoes. They're so nice I thought it'd be rude not to share them with you.

I think they're perfect for wearing now in summer and will last me into winter, they're really comfy for work too.

Want...

Call me a little bit crazy, I know it's august but I am still lusting over all things a/w. I've already bought an amazing thick knit jumper from Primark (picture to follow when I have my camera back and working again...) and two new pairs of boots including these baby's from Topshop that I got off ebay for a bargain. So added to my a/w wish list is this....
Balenciaga Dog Jumper- £525.
...I know, I know I am dreaming with a price tag of £525 but there's just something about this jumper I really like...I think as it's verging on the edge of cool and utterly tacky. I'm not a dog owner myself, (I wish I was) but I love it. Infact I think a whole range of jumpers should be brought out with a whole range of pedigree's to choose from.*

*I am aware this range is most probably available for very cheap down some market...if anyone has any leads, hit me up, tar. xx

Boots.

Ok so yes, it's august and we are in the height of 'summer' (all be it a very dismal English one..) but I have the biggest craving for boots at the moment, every store I go to I'm drawn to them...Hurry up winter so I  can justify buying so many pairs of boots. I've already purchased these from Asos and I have been living in them but I need more. I think I have an addiction to ankle boots and my addition is not helped in the slightest by how many gorgeous pairs there are out there at the moment. Here's just a taster of my massive wishlist....

Recent Purchases- Forever 21

1. Basic Skinny Jeans £8.75 2.Chiffon Floral Skirt £12.75

A few years ago when I was in California I came across a 'Forever 21' store and I loved it, It was so cheap I got a gorgeous tartan dress that is one of my go-to favourites but I'd totally forgot about it's existence until I heard it was coming to the UK, The first store opened in Birmingham and now finally they've opened a beautiful new store just outside of Bond Street station. With blogger Bip Ling in all their adverts (she is the brands 'style ambassador') I got all excited about the opening and the store didn't disappoint- It's full of treats and really cheap, I'd say it was somewhere in between H&M, New Look andTopshop, with the prices more like Primark  ( but a totally less hellish experience!!). The visual merchandising and feel of the stores really nice, the styling of the mannequins is great but the only thing I would say is I'd see something I liked on a mannequin but finding the item was impossible as it would be no where near the display, there was one dress I saw that I liked, searched for it for ages and eventually found it on a totally different floor (my time as a visual merchandiser for Miss Selfridge have taught me that is a big no no!!) other than that though it really is great. I overheard one of the sales assistants say to a customer that they only stock 65 of each item in the whole of the country which, if that's true, makes me like the store even more as it makes you feel like you're picking up something a little bit more unique and special than the majority of the mass produced stuff you get on the high street. I only picked up these two things (believe me I had to stop myself from getting more but my poverty funds at the moment wouldn't let me!) but I will be going back once payday (finally) comes.

I got it for like £15.00 in the sale in the gift shop (bargain!), I'm going to take it to Leeds festival with me (my friend Harriet has very kindly managed to blag us some v.i.p tickets...heellllooooo).

Recommended.

I dip died/ombred my hair for the first time a few months ago and have been re-doing it every so often. I really like my hair at the moment colour wise but dying it was literally turning it into yellow straw (not such a great look) so I had a little look around for some deep moisturising treatment and picked up the VO5 Moisture soak Hot Oil and was so impressed with the result. It's not that expensive either I got a pack of 4 treatments for something like £3.50 from Boots  and it is so easy to use. You just place one tube in a cup of hot water to warm up the oil then in the shower you just rub it into all of your hair and leave it for a minute or two..then afterwards you just have to make sure you wash it completely  out of your hair otherwise if it's left on you get a nasty greasy head. You just wash and condition your hair as normal and style as you would normally. The results are so good, my hair was really soft and back to it's former condition before I wrecked it with dye and it only takes a few minutes worth of treatment. I was very very chuffed. I just use it every couple of weeks or so when my hairs feeling a bit rough.
I definitely recommend it if your hair is feeling a bit poorly.

What I wore.

I really, really hate having my picture taken, I hate my silly little face in pictures but as I do want this blog to be about fashion and be personal it is inevitable that pictures of me should show up on here sooner or later! So here's my first kinda proper outfit post including yours truly...moi!!

(notice...head down so you can't see me...hehehe).
Bowler Hat- Portabello Market
Top- Topshop
Skirt- Topshop
Boots- Asos.

This was just something I put on to do abit of shopping and strolling with my boyfriend, It's a bit Topshop heavy I know, the skirt was a sale bargain (£10.00) and I love it, very summery and very easy to wear and the lace top is one of my favourites I got it a while ago from Topshop and I've rediscovered it lately, it's nice to wear in summer as even though it's longsleeved it feels light as it's lace. The bowler hat has been on my head alot lately as I'm not sure what the hell is going on with my hair at the moment!

&...what he wore...
Well it would be rude not to show you what my boyfriend wore too.
Denim jacket- Charity shop
'Burberry' shirt- Charity Shop
Loafers...Charity Shop!!!!

My boy has an eye for some good charity shop finds!

Skying

The Horrors have come  a long way from their gothic beginnings (don't get me wrong..I used to love them then). Their new and 3rd studio album 'Skying' feels more mature and considered than their early stuff - infact I'd even go as far as to call it somewhat of a 'feel good' summer album, which is very far away from their early days of 'Farris Rotter', 'Spiderwebb' and 'Coffin Joe' (again- at the time I loved all that...but looking back it's so gimicky). They've shed all the black and all the silly names; Farris is now Farris Badwan and I can't stop listening to their latest offering.

Studio XAG.

I came across studio XAG the other day, a visual merchandising and  art direction  team who have designed and installed some amazing bespoke window displays for people such as Christian Louboutin, Diesel and Fred Perry.
The 'Cattarpillar' window they installed for Christian Louboutin is so fun and quirky and visually stunning, I love their use of paper within the design.

As well as doing window displays and interior fits they also do fascia installations, I'm not a huge fan of the Diesel brand but I love the way Studio XAG transformed the front of the Carnaby street store into a 'radio'.
